La Habra is located in northwestern Orange County, bordering the Los Angeles county communities of Whittier and La Mirada. Originally part of Rancho Canada de La Habra, the community was a well-known avocado growing center in the early 1900’s. La Habra’s growth boomed after World War II, allowing older homes to remain as the ranch houses were built around them.

Recent development has made La Habra a major shopping destination, as well as the popular Westridge Country Club and Golf Course. New luxury homes are located on the southern edge of the city, near it’s border with Fullerton.    

Public Safety is provided by the La Habra Police Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
