Originally part of the vast
Spanish land grant called Rancho Los Coyotes, the area that would become La
Mirada was purchased in 1888 and planted with crops of olive,
orange and lemon trees. La Mirada was one of the
first “planned cities” in California,
and was incorporated in 1960. It is located on the southern border of Los Angeles county next to Fullerton.
Home to world-famous BiolaUniversity,
La Mirada was
chosen by CNN as one of the best places to live in the U.S. Along with the La
Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts and the newly built Splash! AquaticsCenter, this community is very popular
with families.
Homes are very affordable, and
range from mid-century ranch style homes to luxury horse properties, offering
something for everyone.
Public safety is provided by the
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and Los Angeles County Fire
Department.
